Christian Hochenberger is a South Jersey-based documentary photographer driven by the moments you can’t stage. He aims to capture movement, special moments, and stories as they unfold naturally.

Christian began his career in photography and video production at the age of 20, working on corporate and brand campaigns for Merck, AT&T, and BD. Learning the craft from the ground up gave him the freedom to develop his own visual style and evolve naturally as an artist.

Today, he uses his camera to tell stories, capture emotion, and preserve the feeling of a moment—often the moments that can’t be recreated.

For the past 25 years, Christian has also shared his passion for photography with his students as a full-time teacher at Shawnee High School in New Jersey.

Teaching has become an important part of his creative journey, and he continues to draw inspiration from the students he works with—many of whom have gone on to pursue photography and creative careers of their own. Helping students discover their voice, bring their ideas to life, and understand the power of visual storytelling is one of the things that continues to drive him.
